I've been working on this for quite some time now, i have to say that it was quite a challenge texturing this guy for PBR, cause PBR is tailored more towards realism, than something stylized. You can definately make cartoony characters with PBR workflow (Ratchet and Clank on PS4 mastered that), but that requires a bit more thought and planning than with straight realism.

My goal was to make the character that looks both cartoony and realistic. Skin tones were the most difficult thing to get right, i couldn't allow the character to have flat colored skin, like he does in reference images of its creator, so i decided to google how reptile skin looks like and i was amazed when i found this zoo-ekzo.ru/sites/default/file… and it was just the perfect reference image for the skin gradients a reptile can have. I couldn't copy the pattern though, cause that would be design alteration. I did, however, still use those pattern colors on Skye's skin as a way to give some variation to it.

Even though ive finished working on textures and materials for this fella, there are still a few things i want to do...
