The original three Spyro games (Spyro the Dragon, Spyro: Ripto's Rage, and Spyro: Year of the Dragon) hold a dear place in many gamers' hearts. Many people regard them as some of the greatest, most innovative, and fantastic games ever developed. There are original and wonderful characters, beautiful, imaginative lands, and a timeless soundtrack by Steward Copland. These original games appealed to gamers of all ages, and are rich in nostalgia value for gamers who played them as children. A collectors' edition of the original three games is selling for very high prices on Amazon, 

While the rights to the Spyro franchise have changed hands a few times, the CEO of Insomniac, Ted Price, is quoted in regards to a possible new game or remake as saying  "We’ll always love Spyro. I’ve learned to say never say never so… who knows?". It may be complicated to negotiate the rights to develop remakes of the first three games, but the payoff would be worth it. Devoted fans of the Spyro series and the signers of this petition would definitely purchase a remake. If Insomniac were to develop the remake, their recent success with the Xbox One exclusive Sunset Overdrive would also draw gamers who played Sunset Overdrive or other Insomniac games to their newest development, a Spyro remake. This remake could either be three separate games, or one compendium, for PS3, PS4, or even both the PS4 and Xbox One, to maximize the amount of potential customers. If Activision were to decide to make a remake and choose a different developer, any remake of the original games would have the benefit of boosting interest in their Skylanders franchise, which includes Spyro. If the possible profit benefits of a Spyro remake don't seem worth the effort put into a remake, it should be considered that the worlds, characters, plots, and layouts have already been developed, and the work involved in making the game would mostly be in making the worlds and gameplay that has already been developed, possibly remastering the soundtrack, or adding new touches, like improved lighting. 

A Spyro the Dragon remake would bring nostalgic joy to the fans of the series, and provide an opportunity to bring new fans to the series. It also has a chance to be profitable, and I strongly urge Activision and Insomniac to consider developing a remake of the first three games.
